Nowadays, technology is developing. Each day you’ll find new technology coming up. But, is technology used as it should be? Not in every case.

One of the most common scenes that you’ll find in Delhi is accident. I mean pick up any newspaper and you’ll find it filled with such news. Delhities feel a pride in breaking rules, and the most common being young riders, the ones who are under 18 years of age. They don’t even hold a valid license; neither do they follow other rules.
Teenagers have hot blood as it is said. They don’t think about themselves or others. So they bet each other for a race. They drive like hell, I mean it. 80 km/hr on a crowded road isn’t cool. The last day, I saw young students, somewhere aged between 12-15 years driving the active on road. Well, neither did they break one rule, they broke many others including no helmets and jumping of signals. I don’t know why they do this. I mean even I am under 18, but I at least drive safe, I wear a helmet and drive within the permissible limits.
Well, it’s not just the two wheelers, the teenagers feel prouder to ride four wheelers. They drive it like they are the only one riding, horning as if others are deaf. Well this actually makes me angry. I mean everything has a limit!

A sad day for MJ fans

Michael Jackson died of a cardiac arrest on Friday. He was only 50. The greater tragedy is that he had been reduced to a husk nearly a decade before that: a paranoiac playing peek-a-boo with the public, sometimes ‘showing up’ in Bahrain in a burqa, at another time in Los Angeles with his three children, their faces masked, and his own covered with a kerchief in an eerie grotesquerie.
Relentless media scrutiny drove the troubled superstar further into his shell leaving him a diminished man, reduced from a supreme talent to a tabloid kicker: Wacko Jacko.

Well, Jackson’s gone, into the Great Beyond. Away from the world that weighed him down. His fans can only pray for him: Thrust In Peace.

The great singer is no more. Rest in peace MJ. A sad day for all his fans over the world.

India (does not) need reservation

Our constitution provided reservation for the backward communities to come up and be at par with the general people. But 50 years after independence, this reservation is still present. Are the people taking undue advantage of it? General category is trying to survive. Every passing year either sees an increase in reservation or new reserved classes coming up, the most recent being the Gujjar case. Most of the seats are reserved.

What is left are some seats for which thousands compete while the other seats go empty most of the times. Is it the time to remove or reduce the reservation? Moreover our politicians use reservation as their own technic.
We urgently need reservations? If so, here’s the wish list.

1. The Olympic Council should allocate One-Fifth of all Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to India; we are One-Fifth humanity after all. And historically India was enslaved by Britishers therefore not allowing Indian sports to develop to its potential. No, we don’t need better sports facilities; we don’t need good sports administrators (No Way!) – We need the medals reserved for us. Come on guys; don’t start the argument of merit. Olympics are not about who can run or swim the fastest. It is a great world event, and everything should be [ ......... ]

Slumdog Millionaire – My take on it

Review-

Well let’s begin with the positives.

The storyline is quite new, something you haven’t seen in the past – and as most of us know it comes from the book ‘Q n A’ by Mr Vikas Swarup (a indian bureaucrat by profession… have you noticed how many indian bureaucrats especially on foregin postings are writing books these days! No real work to do .. eh?). The acting by small kids is good – they shine compared to their older ‘avatars’ in the movie.

slumdog-2

Yeah, i didn’t have too many positives sorry – inspite of the hype.

Now, for the things which i did not like.
The movie has this fundamental problem – it is not ‘engaging’. A movie must tie you down to your seat, and want you to look forward to the next scene, and the next, and the next… but this one doesn’t. Then there is the music – it is one of the mediocre works of A.R.Rahman. Except for the couple of songs which are good, the background score as a whole is disappointing and it doesn’t stay with you. The main protagonist ‘Jamal’ played by ‘Dev [ ......... ]

Is India Ready for the commonwealths ?

After hosting the Commonwealth youth games (CYG) in Pune last year India are now gearing up for the big one, The Commonwealth Games 2010.But the question that arises is whether India is actually ready for it.

CYG which was actually a test run for the mega event in the capital saw controversies and unseen harms. So do you think the major one is going to be successful? Will India be able to flawlessly organize such a multi-national crowd gathering even? Let’s find out !

common-wealth-2010

The +ve side:

Yes India is ready. Some examples that makes it sure are-

  1. Delhi METRO – Yes the dream has come true. India’s second Metro in the capital territory. And the METRO has been a huge success. METRO provides cheap communication and that too at the luxury of an AC. The work of metro is going on very fast. The projects being completed in time.. infact before time too. Thanks Government for this
  2. Flyovers- The progress is pretty fast. You can see new flyovers made now and then and this is making the traffic smoother.
  3. Development in general – India has actually developed a bit, if not as per expectations of many, but still that’s [ ......... ]

Pyramid Shaped Computer’s Outer Case !!

What shape do you associate with style?  Scimitar Computers claim that pyramids = hip & stylish, and so they’re claiming that their handmade pyramid-shaped computer cases are “the solution to the conundrum of how to be a computer nerd and hip and stylish at the same time.” I thought Apple’s already solving that problem.

pyramid-1

Okay I was just kidding . Called Vertex, the laser-cut aluminum case measures 10.24? x 16 ” x 16?. It comes equipped with a LED-lit power button, Scythe Kama-Flex sleeved fans, and hard drive suspension. Each case also comes with a Micro-ATX motherboard, Flex ATX power supply, a slim DVD bay, side-mounted USB, Firewire and audio in/out ports, and a “cross-flow cooling system”, comprised of a fan at the back and bottom of the pyramid.

The Vertex comes in three colors, blue, red and black. In my opinion, its the colors that make it … not stylish. They’re very flat and basic and end up making the case look like a work in progress.
