2010 Newsmaker->Google Wave!

Google Wave is an online tool for real-time communication and collaboration. A wave can be both a conversation
and a document where people can discuss and work together using richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.

“A wave is equal parts conversation and document, where people can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.”

The service seems to combine Gmail and Google Docs into an interesting free-form workspace that could be used to write documents collaboratively, plan events, play games or discuss a recent news.

Google Wave has been designed by the founders of Where 2 Tech, a start-up acquired by Google to create a cutting-edge mapping service, which later became Google Maps.

“Back in early 2004, Google took an interest in a tiny mapping startup called Where 2 Tech, founded by my brother Jens and me. We were excited to join Google and help create what would become Google Maps. But we also started thinking about what might come next for us after maps. As always, Jens came up with the answer: communication. He pointed out that two of the most spectacular successes in digital communication, email and instant [ ......... ]

India says Copenhagen summit disappointing.

India Sunday expressed disappointment over the outcome of the recent climate change summit in Copenhagen.

“We were able to make only limited progress at Copenhagen summit and no one was fully satisfied with the outcome. Yet there is no escaping the truth that the nations of the world have to move to a low greenhouse gas submissions and energy efficient development path,” Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said in the southern Indian state of Kerala’s capital Thiruvananthapuram.

India and developing countries wanted developed nations like the United States to make commitments on the Kyoto Protocol but that failed to materialize at Copenhagen.

The prime minister said that global warming has been posing fresh challenges to India.

“Climate change is a problem that is challenging the knowledge and wisdom of humankind. India now faces new challenges of climate change and the management of our scarce water resources,” he said.

“As far as energy is concerned, renewable and clean energy supplies will need to play a much bigger role that what they do currently. Nuclear and solar energy supplies will need to increase considerably,” Singh said. [ ......... ]

The MEAN Machine!!!!-BMW X6

The BMW X6 , is something even nastier than its brother X5!The X6 M is a piece of automotive engineering that shouldn’t exist, its total lack of practicality suggesting it is more about art than function, the automotive equivalent of Mount Everest–BMW built it because it could.

Upholding its engineering reputation, BMW fits the 4.4-liter V-8 with its double-VANOS continuously variable valve timing and direct injection, making for an engine that produces plenty of torque at low speeds. The twin turbos, one for each bank of four cylinders, force air into the engine at 22 psi, cranking up overall engine output to 555 horsepower and 501 pound-feet of torque which is incredible.

Given the similar power train and chassis, the X6 M should be virtually identical to the X5 M.The X6 M’s roofline, sloping radically down toward the hatchback, tortures rear-seat passengers with minimal headroom. Cargo space is also limited to things that can lie flat.

The X6 M seems designed with the sadist in mind, a person who would welcome people into the back seat, grin, then proceed to drive like a madman until the rear-seat passengers were suffering neck pains that would keep a team of chiropractors in business [ ......... ]

Is Sanskrit that advanced?

In the heart of London, a British school has made Sanskrit compulsory subject for its junior division because it helps students grasp math, science and other languages better.

“This is the most perfect and logical language in the world, the only one that is not named after the people who speak it. Indeed the word itself means ‘perfected language.” –Warwick Jessup, Head, Head, Sanskrit department

“The Devnagri script and spoken Sanskrit are two of the best ways for a child to overcome stiffness of fingers and the tongue,” says Moss. “Today’s European languages do not use many parts of the tongue and mouth while speaking or many finger movements while writing, whereas Sanskrit helps immensely to develop cerebral dexterity through its phonetics.”

Gives a great pride as being Indian right? Obviously ;)

Just stay tuned with more news and more views on India by the youth. From now on, I have got a cameraman with me (my Nokia 6208c) ;) So you’ll find great pics and nice articles soon.

One year goes… Still the memory is fresh

Hi dear readers,

Sorry for not writing for a very long time indeed. I won’t make silly excuses to save myself from your complains. But, then it may make you think why after so long am I writing? The reason is a bit obvious and everyone knows about the terrorist attacks in Mumbai on 26-11. Today we celebrate one year. The memory is still fresh. Still we can feel the pain of Mumbai and India as a whole.

India remembers 26-11 anniversary – a day that reminds one of the worst attacks, a day when many people lost their lives, a day of victory of good over evil and a day when we realized we were Indians first and Hindu/Muslim/Sikh afterwards.

Mumbai terrorist attack accused ajmal amir qassab

Mumbai, or Amchi Mumbai was witness to one of the worst terror attacks. Although now the situations have become stable, one can still remember that day when most of India was praying for people in Taj Hotel. That day it was not Hindu, not Muslim, not Sikh who was fighting (as on normal days). They were Indians who were fighting against something the world is also trying to fight with (I am talking about terrorism here).

To know more about the attacks (if you still don’t know) you can visit [ ......... ]

1) Yes, 70 lakhs crores rupees of India are lying in Switzerland banks. This is the highest amount lying outside any country, from amongst 180 countries of the world, as if India is the champion of Black Money.

2) German Government has officially written to Indian Government that they (German Government) are willing to inform the details of holders of 70 lakh crore rupees in their Banks, if Indian Government officially asks them.

3) On 22-5-08, this news has already been published in The Times of India and other Newspapers based on German Government’s official letter to Indian Government.

4) But the Indian Government has not sent any official inquiry to Germany for details of money which has been sent outside India between 1947 to 2008.. The opposition party is also equally not interested in doing so because most of the amount is owned by politicians and it is every Indian’s money.

5) This money belongs to our country. From these funds we can repay 13 times of our country’s foreign debt. The interest alone can take care of the Center’s yearly budget. People need not pay any taxes and we can pay Rs. 1 lakh to each of 45 crore poor families.

6) Let us imagine, if Swiss Bank is holding Rs. 70 lakh Crores, then how much [ ......... ]

A Mathematician’s Love Letter

Posted by DoN | Posted in Site | Posted on 02-07-2009

Ever wondered how a mathematician would write a love letter ? Without wasting your time, here I present you a love letter written by our very own Pythagoras

mathematician

De-Morgan’s Law,

Binomial Avenue,

United States of Matrices.

My Dear Love,

Yesterday, I was passing by your rectangular house in trigonometric lane. There I saw your cute circular face, conical nose and spherical eyes, standing in your triangular garden.

Before seeing you my heart was a null set, but when a vector of magnitude (likeness) from your eyes at a deviation of theta radians made a tangent to my heart, it differentiated.

My love for you is a quadratic equation with real roots, which only you can solve by making good binary relation with me.

The cosine of my love for you extends to infinity. I promise that I should not resolve you into partial functions but if I do so, you can integrate me by applying the limits from zero to infinity. You are as essential to me as an element to a set. The geometry of my life revolves around your acute personality. My love, if you do not meet me at parabola restaurant on date 10 at sunset, when the sun is making an angle of 160 degrees, my heart would be like a solved polynomial of degree 10. With love from your higher [ ......... ]

Engineering can have side effects too. Have a look at the following conversation between a software engineer and his wife.

Young riders – Risking everyone’s life

Nowadays, technology is developing. Each day you’ll find new technology coming up. But, is technology used as it should be? Not in every case.

One of the most common scenes that you’ll find in Delhi is accident. I mean pick up any newspaper and you’ll find it filled with such news. Delhities feel a pride in breaking rules, and the most common being young riders, the ones who are under 18 years of age. They don’t even hold a valid license; neither do they follow other rules.
Teenagers have hot blood as it is said. They don’t think about themselves or others. So they bet each other for a race. They drive like hell, I mean it. 80 km/hr on a crowded road isn’t cool. The last day, I saw young students, somewhere aged between 12-15 years driving the active on road. Well, neither did they break one rule, they broke many others including no helmets and jumping of signals. I don’t know why they do this. I mean even I am under 18, but I at least drive safe, I wear a helmet and drive within the permissible limits.
Well, it’s not just the two wheelers, the teenagers feel prouder to ride four wheelers. They drive it like they are the only one riding, horning as if others are deaf. Well this actually makes me angry. I mean everything has a limit!
